We’ve worked with ad agencies, corporate clients, and business owners throughout Texas. We taught photography and Photoshop at HCC and The Art Institute of Houston for 21 years. We’re veterans, ASMP members since 1979, and we still learn new techniques daily because the tools keep evolving.

Then you come in for the session. Sessions start at $100. We walk you through it. We’ll adjust your posture, your angle, your expression—not because you’re doing it wrong, but because small shifts make a big difference on camera. Most people relax after the first few frames.
You’re not stuck in front of the camera for hours. The session moves. You’ll see some of the shots as they happen, so you know what’s working. Once we’ve got the right images, you’re done.

We shoot with high-end equipment, but the gear isn’t the point. The point is knowing how to use it. We’ve been doing this since before digital cameras existed, back when you had to nail exposure, focus, and composition in a single frame. Those skills still matter, even now when you can take 500 photos in a session.

Wear what you’d wear to an important meeting. If you’re a lawyer, that’s probably a suit. If you’re a creative professional, maybe it’s a blazer and no tie. The goal is to look like yourself, just polished.
Solid colors work better than busy patterns. Patterns can distract from your face, and they don’t always translate well on camera. Avoid bright white if you can—it tends to blow out under studio lights. Darker tones or muted colors usually photograph better.
Bring a couple of options if you’re not sure. We can look at them in the studio and decide what works best with the lighting and background. And if you’re worried about what works on camera, just ask. We’ll tell you.
Most sessions take 30 to 60 minutes. That’s enough time to get multiple looks, adjust lighting, and make sure you’re comfortable in front of the camera.
You’re not going to be there all day. We work efficiently because we know what we’re looking for. If you’re stiff at first, that’s normal—most people are. But after a few frames, you’ll settle in. The goal is to get the shot without dragging it out.
If you need something more involved—multiple setups, wardrobe changes, or location work—that takes longer, and we’d talk about that ahead of time. But for a standard business headshot or professional portrait, an hour is usually plenty.
Yes, but the retouching is about enhancement, not transformation. You’re going to look like yourself, just with better lighting and a few distractions cleaned up.
We learned photography in the film era, when you had to get it right in camera. That philosophy still applies. Photoshop is there to enhance the image—remove a stray hair, smooth out harsh shadows, adjust color balance—not to salvage a bad shot or turn you into someone you’re not.
If you’ve got a specific concern—maybe a temporary blemish or something you want adjusted—just mention it. But the goal is always to create an image that looks natural and professional, not overly edited. People can tell when a photo’s been Photoshopped to death, and it doesn’t help your credibility.
