You’re not just getting files. You’re getting images that make you feel confident when someone Googles your name or lands on your About page.
The difference shows up in how people respond. Clients mention your headshot made you seem approachable. Your team actually uses the photos you paid for instead of cropping old vacation shots. You stop second-guessing whether your image matches the quality of your work.
That’s what happens when someone who’s been doing this since 1974 handles your session. You show up, we handle the lighting and posing, and you walk away with portraits that feel right—not forced, not fake, just professional.
We’ve been serving Houston since 1984. That’s forty years of corporate headshots, family portraits, and commercial photography services across Harris County and beyond.
Joe graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography with a degree in Commercial Illustration Photography, then spent a decade working in commercial studios before opening his own. When the Texas oil industry tanked in the late 80s, he adapted. That flexibility still defines how we work today.
We’ve photographed executives at Fortune 500 companies, medical residents preparing for ERAS applications, and families who just want one decent photo where everyone looks good. Houston’s economy has changed, but the need for authentic professional imagery hasn’t.
First, we talk. You tell us what you need these portraits for—corporate site, LinkedIn, marketing materials, personal branding. That conversation shapes everything from lighting setup to how we direct you during the shoot.
Then we schedule your session, either at our Houston studio or your location if that makes more sense. Studio gives us complete control over lighting. On-location gives you environmental context. Both work, depending on what you’re after.
During the shoot, we guide you through posing and expression. Most people feel awkward in front of a camera—that’s normal. Our job is to make you comfortable enough that your real personality comes through, not some stiff corporate version of yourself.
After the session, you review your images and select the ones you want. We handle retouching to ensure consistent quality across all final files. Turnaround is typically within a week, faster if you need it for an urgent deadline.
Ready to get started?
Your session includes professional lighting setup, posing direction, and multiple outfit changes if needed. We shoot enough variety that you’re not stuck with one look for the next five years.
You get high-resolution digital files suitable for print and web use. That means your headshot works on a billboard or a business card without pixelating. We also provide basic retouching—removing temporary blemishes, adjusting lighting, ensuring color accuracy.
Houston’s corporate market moves fast. Harris County has one of the highest concentrations of photography businesses in Texas, which means you have options. What sets us apart is consistency. We’ve been doing this long enough that you’re not gambling on someone’s first corporate shoot. You’re working with a photographer who taught at the Art Institute of Houston for 21 years and has handled everything from industrial documentation to executive portraits.
If you’re updating team headshots across your organization, we can shoot on-site to maintain visual consistency. Same lighting, same background treatment, same professional standard across fifty employees or five.
Portrait photography in Houston typically ranges from $150 to $370 depending on session length, number of final images, and whether you need studio or location work. Our pricing is straightforward—you know the cost before you book.
What you’re paying for is more than camera time. It’s lighting equipment that costs thousands of dollars, four decades of experience knowing how to use it, and the ability to make you look natural instead of like a deer in headlights. Cheap headshots look cheap. That’s fine if you’re updating a gym membership card. It’s not fine if you’re trying to win a $50,000 contract.
We don’t hide fees or upsell you during the session. You get a quote, you approve it, we deliver what we promised. If you need rush turnaround or additional retouching, we’ll tell you that cost upfront.
Wear what you’d wear to meet your most important client. If that’s a suit, wear a suit. If your industry is more casual, dress accordingly. The goal is looking like yourself on your best day, not like you’re wearing a costume.
Solid colors photograph better than busy patterns. Avoid bright white or pure black—they create lighting challenges. Bring multiple options if you’re unsure. We’ll look at them in the lighting and tell you what works best.
For corporate headshots, you want your clothing to support your face, not distract from it. That means no loud patterns, no distracting jewelry, nothing that screams for attention. For family portraits or personal branding work, you have more flexibility. We’ll guide you based on what you’re using these images for.
A standard headshot session takes 30 to 45 minutes. That’s enough time to get multiple looks, adjust lighting, and make sure you’re comfortable. If you need full-length portraits or multiple outfit changes, plan for 60 to 90 minutes.
We don’t rush you. Some people relax in front of the camera immediately. Others need more time to warm up. We work at whatever pace gets you the best results, not whatever pace maximizes our daily bookings.
For corporate team photography, we can shoot 15 to 20 people per hour once we’re set up. That efficiency matters when you’re coordinating schedules across a busy office. We come to your Houston location, set up a temporary studio, and move people through quickly without making anyone feel like they’re on an assembly line.
Yes. Studio sessions give us complete control over lighting, background, and environment. That control means consistent, professional results every time. Our Houston studio is equipped for everything from tight headshot crops to full-length environmental portraits.
On-location work makes sense when you want environmental context—your office, your storefront, your facility. We bring professional lighting equipment to your site and create the same quality you’d get in-studio. The tradeoff is less flexibility if the location has challenging lighting or space constraints.
Most corporate clients prefer on-location for team headshots because it’s easier than moving twenty people to a studio. Most individuals prefer studio sessions because parking is simpler and the environment is controlled. Either way works. We’ll recommend what makes sense based on your specific needs and what you’re using the portraits for.
Standard turnaround is five to seven business days from your session. That includes culling through all the shots, selecting the best images, and handling retouching. You’ll receive high-resolution digital files ready for immediate use.
If you have an urgent deadline—conference headshot, website launch, ERAS application—we can expedite. Rush turnaround gets you finished images within 48 hours. There’s an additional fee for that, but it’s available when you need it.
You’re not waiting weeks wondering when your images will arrive. We’ve been doing this long enough to have efficient workflows that don’t sacrifice quality for speed. You’ll get a notification when your gallery is ready, review your images online, and download the files directly.
Forty years of experience means we’ve handled every scenario you can imagine. Difficult lighting. Camera-shy subjects. Last-minute wardrobe issues. Corporate clients who need fifty headshots by end of week. We’ve solved these problems hundreds of times.
You’re not working with someone who bought a nice camera last year and calls themselves a professional photographer. Joe has been teaching photography for over twenty years at institutions including the Art Institute of Houston. That teaching background means we can explain what we’re doing and why, not just click the shutter and hope.
Houston’s photography market is competitive. What keeps clients coming back—and referring their colleagues—is consistency. You know what you’re getting. The images match the quality of your work. And you’re not dealing with flaky communication or missed deadlines. We show up, we deliver, and the portraits actually get used instead of sitting in a folder somewhere.
