A basic headshot session usually takes 30 minutes to an hour. That’s enough time to get multiple looks, try different angles, and make sure you’re comfortable. Family portrait sessions typically run one to two hours depending on how many people are involved and whether you’re doing multiple setups.
You’re not rushed. We take the time needed to get the shot right, and that includes adjusting lighting, repositioning, and letting you see what’s working in real time. If something’s not looking right, you’ll know before the session ends.
Most people are surprised at how quickly it goes once they relax. The first few minutes might feel awkward, but once you get direction and see that the images actually look good, the rest of the session flows. You’ll leave with more usable photos than you expected.
You get the fully edited, final images—not every single frame that was shot. A professional photographer takes multiple shots to capture the right expression, angle, and lighting. Many of those are duplicates, test shots, or frames where someone blinked.
What you receive are the best images from your session, professionally retouched and color-corrected. That’s what you’re paying for—curated, polished photos that are ready to use. If you need high-resolution files for printing or web-optimized versions for your website, you’ll get them in the format that works for you.
Some photographers nickel-and-dime you for every image or push expensive packages. Our approach is straightforward: you get quality images without the upsell pressure. You’ll know what you’re getting before you book.
Turnaround is typically one to two weeks for fully edited images. That includes culling through the shots, selecting the best ones, color correction, retouching, and final processing. Rush delivery is available if you need images sooner for a specific deadline.
Professional editing takes time because it’s done right. You’re not getting auto-filtered smartphone photos. Each image is individually adjusted for exposure, color balance, and any retouching that makes you look like yourself on your best day—not overly airbrushed or fake.
You’ll receive your images digitally in a format that’s easy to download and use. If you need prints, that can be arranged. The goal is to get you usable, professional photos without unnecessary delays or complicated delivery processes.
Smartphone cameras have gotten better, but they can’t replace professional lighting, lenses, and someone who knows how to use them. Your phone might take a decent photo in perfect conditions, but it struggles with indoor lighting, color accuracy, and capturing detail the way a professional camera does.
