You’re not looking for perfection. You’re looking for authenticity—portraits that capture real expressions, genuine moments, and the kind of presence that builds trust before you even shake hands.
That outdated headshot on your LinkedIn? It’s costing you credibility. Those stiff family photos gathering dust? They don’t reflect how your family actually feels together. You need photography services that understand the difference between technically correct and emotionally resonant.
Here’s what changes when your portraits actually represent you: clients recognize you when you walk in the room. Your website feels current. Your marketing materials don’t undermine the quality of your work. You stop apologizing for how old that photo is.
The right portrait isn’t about looking perfect. It’s about looking like yourself on your best day—confident, approachable, and real.
We’ve been creating portraits for Houston-area professionals since 1984. That’s not a selling point—it’s just context for why we know what works and what doesn’t.
Nassau Bay sits in the heart of Houston’s aerospace and engineering corridor. Your neighbors work at NASA, in petrochemicals, in manufacturing. They’re not models. They’re professionals who need to look professional without feeling like they’re playing dress-up.
We’ve photographed executives who hate being photographed, families with toddlers who won’t sit still, and professionals who need headshots that work across every platform from LinkedIn to conference materials. The common thread? Everyone relaxes once they realize we’re not going to make this weird.
First, we talk. Not about lighting or poses—about what you’re using these portraits for. Corporate website? Family wall art? LinkedIn and conference materials? That context shapes everything from wardrobe guidance to how we set up the shoot.
Then we shoot. You’re not left guessing what to do with your hands or where to look. We guide you through posing and expression, making adjustments in real time so you can see what’s working. Most people forget they’re being photographed within the first ten minutes.
The technical stuff—lighting, composition, background—that’s handled before you arrive. Your job is to show up and be yourself. Our job is to capture that in a way that actually serves your goals.
After the session, you review images and select what you need. We handle the editing to ensure everything is crisp, well-composed, and color-accurate. Then you get high-resolution files ready to use wherever you need them—print, web, social media, marketing materials.

Portrait sessions start at $350 and include the actual photography time, professional lighting and equipment, guidance on posing and expression, and image review. You’re not paying for a single shot—you’re paying for the expertise that makes you look natural instead of stiff.
Family portraits accommodate up to six people with no extra charge for pets, because we know your dog is family too. Corporate headshots can be done individually or as team sessions if you’re updating an entire department.
Nassau Bay’s proximity to Clear Lake and the Johnson Space Center means many clients need portraits that work in technical or corporate environments. These aren’t glamour shots. They’re professional images that communicate competence and approachability—the kind of headshots that make someone want to work with you.
You get high-resolution edited images suitable for any use. Need different crops for different platforms? That’s standard. Want both color and black-and-white versions? Not a problem. The goal is giving you assets that work across every context where your image matters.
Annually. That’s the standard if you want your online presence to match your actual appearance.
Here’s why it matters: outdated headshots create a trust gap. When someone meets you after seeing a five-year-old photo, there’s a moment of cognitive dissonance. It’s subtle, but it undermines credibility before the conversation even starts.
Your hair changes. Your face changes. Your style changes. If your headshot doesn’t reflect those changes, it signals that you’re not paying attention to details—or worse, that you’re trying to hide something. Neither impression helps you win business.
Update your headshot every year, or whenever there’s a significant change in your appearance. It’s not vanity. It’s basic professional maintenance.
Wear what you’d wear to meet your most important client. Not what you’d wear to a wedding or a job interview—what you actually wear when you need to look professional.
Solid colors work better than busy patterns because they don’t distract from your face. Avoid bright whites and pure blacks since they can cause exposure issues. Bring options if you’re unsure—we can look at them together and decide what works best on camera.
For corporate headshots, that usually means business casual or business professional depending on your industry. For family portraits, coordinate colors without matching exactly—you want harmony, not uniformity.
The goal is looking like yourself, just slightly more polished. If you never wear ties, don’t wear one for your headshot. If you always wear ties, definitely wear one. Authenticity beats formality.
Both. The decision depends on what you’re using the portraits for and what aesthetic you’re after.
Studio sessions give you clean, controlled backgrounds and consistent lighting. They’re ideal for corporate headshots, professional profiles, and any situation where you need a neutral backdrop that won’t distract from your face. We can shoot these at our studio or bring equipment to your office if you’re updating an entire team.
Outdoor sessions work well for family portraits, senior portraits, or professional images with a more relaxed feel. Nassau Bay’s proximity to Clear Lake offers good natural settings, though we’re selective about timing and weather to ensure quality results.
The wrong choice is picking outdoor because it sounds more interesting when you actually need a clean corporate headshot, or picking studio because it sounds more professional when you want something with personality. We’ll talk through your goals and recommend what makes sense.
Individual headshots take about 30 minutes. Family portraits typically run 60 to 90 minutes depending on group size and how many setups you want.
That might sound quick for a headshot, but most of the work happens before you arrive—setting up lighting, preparing backgrounds, testing equipment. Your time is spent on actual photography, not watching us fiddle with gear.
For families with young children, we move fast and stay flexible. Kids have about 20 minutes of cooperation in them before things fall apart. We work with that reality instead of against it, capturing genuine expressions while everyone’s still having fun.
Corporate team sessions run longer since we’re photographing multiple people, but each individual is typically in front of the camera for 10 to 15 minutes. We schedule these efficiently so your team isn’t pulled away from work all day.
Framing and purpose. A headshot shows your head and shoulders, tightly cropped, focused entirely on your face. A portrait can include more of your body, environment, or context.
Headshots are for professional profiles—LinkedIn, company websites, conference materials, press kits. They’re designed to be recognizable at small sizes and work across different platforms. The background is usually neutral because the focus is entirely on you.
Portraits have more flexibility. They can show personality, environment, or relationships. Family portraits, executive portraits with office context, creative portraits for artists or entrepreneurs—these all fall under the broader portrait category.
You might need both. A tight headshot for your email signature and LinkedIn, plus a wider environmental portrait for your website’s about page that shows you in your workspace. They serve different purposes, and the photography approach changes accordingly.
Edited images are typically ready within one week. Rush delivery is available if you’re on a deadline, but standard turnaround is seven business days from your session date.
That timeline includes culling through all the shots to select the best ones, editing for color accuracy and exposure, retouching any distracting elements, and preparing high-resolution files in the formats you need. We’re not just dumping raw files on you—you’re getting finished, professional images ready to use.
You’ll receive a link to review and download your images. Files come in high resolution suitable for print and web-optimized versions for faster loading on websites and social media. If you need specific dimensions or formats for particular uses, let us know and we’ll include those.
If you need images same-day for an urgent situation, mention that when booking. We can sometimes accommodate rush requests, but it requires different scheduling and workflow. Standard turnaround gives you quality without cutting corners.
