Hear from Our Customers
Your LinkedIn profile gets more views when your headshot looks current and professional. Your website builds more trust when visitors see a real person behind the business. Your family actually wants to display portraits when they capture genuine expressions instead of forced smiles.
That’s what happens when you work with a photographer who knows how to make you comfortable in front of the camera. You’re not spending an hour trying to figure out where to put your hands or how to stand. You’re having a conversation while someone who’s done this for four decades guides you through natural poses that actually work.
The images you get aren’t just technically good—they’re the ones you’ll actually use. On your website, your marketing materials, your social profiles, and yes, printed and framed in your home. Because when portraits look like you on your best day, not some overly retouched version of yourself, they work harder for you.
We’ve been creating photographs for corporate clients and families since 1974. That’s not a typo—40 years of working with everyone from advertising agencies to executives at the Texas Medical Center to families right here in West University Place.
This isn’t a side business or a weekend hobby. We established our studio in 1984 and have spent decades teaching photography and digital imaging at HCC and The Art Institute of Houston. We’ve worked with the kind of clients who notice details and expect results.
West University Place has one of the highest median household incomes in Texas, and the professionals and families here expect photography services that match that standard. You’re not looking for the cheapest option—you’re looking for someone who understands that your time matters, your image matters, and getting it right the first time matters. That’s exactly what you get here.
First, we talk. Not a sales pitch—an actual conversation about what you need these images for and what you want them to accomplish. Corporate headshots for your team? Family portraits that don’t feel staged? Personal branding images that show your personality? That conversation shapes everything that happens next.
Before the session, you’ll get guidance on what to wear. Not generic advice like “wear something you feel good in”—specific recommendations based on where these images will be used and what actually photographs well. If you’re getting headshots for a law firm website, that’s different than images for a creative agency. The clothing matters.
During the shoot, you’re not left guessing. We walk you through posing, adjust lighting in real time, and keep the conversation going so you’re not thinking about the camera. Most people are surprised by how quickly the session moves and how comfortable they feel.
After the session, you’ll review the images and select the ones you want. The final images are delivered in the formats you need—high resolution for print, optimized files for web, whatever makes sense for how you’ll actually use them.
Ready to get started?
Every portrait session includes a pre-shoot consultation where we discuss your goals, review wardrobe options, and plan the approach. You’re not showing up and hoping for the best—you know exactly what to expect.
The session itself includes professional lighting setup, multiple poses and compositions, and as much time as needed to get the shots right. No rushing. No feeling like you’re on a timer. If something isn’t working, we adjust.
For professionals in West University Place and the surrounding Houston area, that often means headshots that work for LinkedIn, company websites, conference materials, and marketing collateral. For families, it means portraits that capture real moments—kids being kids, not frozen in uncomfortable poses.
You’ll receive fully edited, high-resolution images ready for any use. Print them large for your office. Use them on your website. Send them to publications. The files are yours, and they’re delivered in formats that actually work for professional use. No surprises, no upsells for basic editing, no watermarks you have to pay to remove.
If your current headshot is more than a year old, it’s time for a new one. That might sound excessive, but here’s why it matters: when someone meets you in person after seeing your photo online, they should recognize you immediately.
Your headshot creates trust and credibility before you ever speak to a potential client. If you show up looking noticeably different from your photo—different hairstyle, different weight, different age—it creates a small moment of doubt. Not huge, but enough to matter.
For professionals in West University Place working with high-value clients, that credibility is everything. Your image is part of your brand. Keep it current, keep it accurate, and you’ll never have that awkward “you look different than your photo” moment.
Wear what makes sense for how you’ll use the images. Corporate headshots for a law firm? Suit and tie or professional business attire. Personal branding for a creative business? Something that shows your personality while still looking polished.
Solid colors photograph better than busy patterns. Avoid bright white unless that’s specifically part of your brand—it can wash out under professional lighting. Bring options if you’re not sure. We’ll look at them together and choose what works best.
For family portraits, coordinate without matching exactly. You want the images to feel cohesive, not like you’re all wearing uniforms. Think about where these portraits will be displayed in your home and choose colors that work with that space. And yes, we’ll talk through all of this before the session so you’re not guessing.
Individual headshots usually take 30-45 minutes. That includes setup, multiple poses, reviewing images on screen to make sure we’re getting what you need, and making any adjustments.
Family portraits take longer—usually 60-90 minutes, depending on how many people and how many different setups you want. If you have young children, we build in extra time because kids don’t perform on command, and that’s fine. Patience gets better results than rushing.
Corporate team headshots are scheduled differently. If we’re photographing 20 employees, we’ll set up once and move people through efficiently—usually about 10-15 minutes per person once everything is ready. You’re not losing your whole team for an entire day.
Every image is professionally edited. That means color correction, exposure adjustments, and basic retouching—removing temporary blemishes, smoothing skin texture slightly, and making sure the lighting looks natural.
What you won’t get is heavy-handed retouching that makes you look like a different person. The goal is you on your best day, not a magazine cover version of you. If you want more extensive retouching, we can discuss that, but most clients prefer images that look like them.
All editing is included in your session fee. You’re not paying extra for basic post-production work. The images you receive are finished, professional files ready to use immediately.
Yes. On-location sessions work well for corporate headshots where you want the office environment in the background, or for family portraits in your home where kids are most comfortable.
The trade-off is lighting. In the studio, lighting is controlled and consistent. On location, we work with the available light and bring portable equipment to supplement it. Both approaches work—it just depends on what you’re trying to accomplish with the images.
For professionals in West University Place, on-location sessions often make sense for environmental portraits that show you in your workspace. For families, home sessions can feel more relaxed, especially with young children. We’ll discuss the best option during your consultation based on your specific needs.
Finished images are typically delivered within one week of your session. That includes full editing and retouching, organized files, and delivery in the formats you need.
If you have a specific deadline—a conference next week, a website launch, a publication deadline—let us know upfront. Rush delivery can usually be accommodated when needed, and we’ll make sure you have what you need when you need it.
You’ll receive your images via digital download with clear file naming so you know which images are optimized for web, which are high-resolution for print, and how to use each file. No confusion, no technical headaches, just images ready to use.
