Your headshot stops being the weak link in your marketing. When someone lands on your LinkedIn profile or your company’s website, they see someone who looks confident, approachable, and like they know what they’re doing. That matters more than most people think.
You’re not wondering if your photo is good enough anymore. You have images that work across every platform you need—high-res for print, web-optimized for your site, cropped correctly for LinkedIn. You’re not scrambling last minute or settling for a smartphone selfie with decent lighting.
If you’re hiring, your team looks cohesive. Same background, same lighting, same professional standard. It’s a small thing that makes a big difference in how serious your company appears to clients and prospects.
I’ve been shooting portraits and commercial work in Houston since 1974. That’s five decades of figuring out how to make people comfortable in front of a camera, how to light a shot correctly the first time, and how to deliver what you actually need—not just what looks good in the moment.
I’ve taught photography and Photoshop at HCC and The Art Institute of Houston for 21 years. I’ve been an ASMP member since 1979. I learned my craft in the film era, when you had to get it right before you pressed the shutter. That foundation still shows up in every session.
Cloverleaf and the greater Houston area have changed a lot since the ’70s. The photography industry has exploded—Texas is projected to hit $609 million in market size by 2024. But what hasn’t changed is the need for someone who knows how to make you look like yourself, just better. That’s what you’re getting here.
You reach out and we talk through what you need. Headshots for your team? A personal portrait for your website? Corporate photos for a rebrand? We figure out the scope, timeline, and any specific requirements before anything gets scheduled.
Then we set up the session. If it’s a team shoot, we come to your office. If it’s individual portraits, we work in-studio or at a location that makes sense. I walk you through posing and adjustments in real time—you’re not guessing if it’s working. You see it as it’s happening.
After the shoot, you get your edited images in the formats you need. High-res files for print, web-ready versions, cropped for LinkedIn or other platforms. Turnaround is quick because most business clients can’t wait two weeks for a headshot. You get what you need when you need it, and you’re not chasing anyone down for files.

You’re getting professionally lit portraits that work in the context you need them for. That means proper lighting setup, not natural light that looks different depending on the time of day. It means backgrounds that don’t distract from your face. It means images that are sharp, well-composed, and color-corrected.
You’re also getting direction. Most people don’t know what to do with their hands or how to stand in a way that doesn’t look stiff. I’ve been doing this long enough that I can adjust your posture or expression in seconds and you immediately see the difference. You’re not left wondering if you look awkward.
In the Houston area, where the photography market is booming and competition is everywhere, the difference between a decent photo and a professional one is obvious. Real estate agents, lawyers, healthcare professionals, and small business owners in Cloverleaf and Harris County are all dealing with the same problem: their professional image is the first thing people see. If it doesn’t look credible, you’ve already lost the chance to make a good impression. This is about making sure that doesn’t happen.
Most individual portrait sessions take 30 to 45 minutes. That includes setup, shooting, and reviewing images to make sure you’re happy with what we got.
If you’re camera-shy or haven’t done this in a while, it might take a few extra minutes to get comfortable. That’s normal. I’m not rushing you out the door. The goal is to get shots that actually work, not to hit some arbitrary time limit.
For team headshots where we’re photographing multiple people, plan for about 15 to 20 minutes per person. If you have a team of ten, that’s roughly three hours total. It’s efficient, but it’s not a conveyor belt.
Wear what you’d wear to an important meeting with a client. If that’s a suit, wear a suit. If your industry is more casual and you’re usually in a button-down or blouse, go with that.
Avoid busy patterns, logos, or anything that’s going to distract from your face. Solid colors work best. If you’re getting team photos done, coordinate so everyone’s in a similar level of formality—don’t have half your team in suits and the other half in polos unless that’s actually how your company operates.
Bring a backup outfit if you’re unsure. It’s easier to have options than to realize halfway through the session that what you’re wearing isn’t working. And if you wear glasses, bring them. Don’t try to be someone you’re not in your headshot. People will meet you in person eventually.
Every image is edited and color-corrected. That’s standard. You’re not getting raw, unprocessed files.
Retouching depends on what you need. Minor adjustments—smoothing out a wrinkle in your shirt, removing a stray hair, toning down a blemish—that’s all part of the process. If you want more extensive retouching, that’s available, but most clients don’t need it.
The goal is to make you look like yourself on a good day, not like a different person. Photoshop is there to enhance the image, not salvage a bad shot. That’s the advantage of working with someone who learned photography in the film era—I get it right in-camera first, so you’re not relying on heavy editing to make the photo usable.
Both work. For team headshots or corporate portraits, it usually makes more sense to come to your office. It’s easier for your team, and we can set up a temporary studio space in a conference room or open area.
For individual portraits, you can come to the studio or we can shoot on location if there’s a specific setting that makes sense for your brand. Some clients want their portraits done at their business location because it adds context. Others prefer a neutral background that works anywhere.
The setup is the same either way—professional lighting, proper backdrop, and the same level of quality. It’s just a matter of what’s more convenient for you and what fits the look you’re going for. Location doesn’t change the outcome.
Portrait photography in Houston typically runs between $150 and $370 per person, depending on the photographer and what’s included. That’s the market rate for professional work.
My pricing is competitive and based on what you’re getting—professionally lit portraits, real-time direction during the shoot, edited high-res files, and quick turnaround. You’re not paying for the cheapest option, but you’re also not overpaying for a name.
If you’re booking a team shoot, the per-person rate usually drops because we’re already on-site and set up. For individual sessions, pricing depends on how many final images you need and what formats you want them in. The best move is to reach out and talk through what you’re looking for so you get an accurate quote, not a ballpark guess.
Most clients get their edited images within one week. If you need them faster for a specific deadline, that’s usually possible—just mention it upfront.
The images are delivered digitally in the formats you requested. High-res for print, web-optimized for your site, and cropped versions for LinkedIn or other platforms if that’s part of the package. You’re not waiting around wondering when the files are going to show up.
If you need revisions or additional edits after you see the final images, that’s handled on a case-by-case basis. But most of the time, what you see during the session is what you’re going to get in the final files. There’s no mystery about whether the photos turned out well—you already know before you leave.
