We started creating photographs in 1974 after graduating from Brooks Institute of Photography. We opened Joe Robbins Photography in Deer Park in 1984, and we’ve been serving families and businesses across the Houston area ever since—from The Woodlands down to Galveston, Katy to Baytown.
We taught photography and digital imaging at HCC and The Art Institute of Houston for 21 years. That’s not a side note—it means we know how to explain what’s happening, why it matters, and how to make you comfortable even if you hate being photographed. Most people do.

During the shoot, we work quickly but don’t rush you. We’ll give direction when it helps and step back when it doesn’t. You’re not spending hours under lights—most sessions wrap in 60 to 90 minutes depending on what you need.
After the session, you’ll review the images and choose what you want. No pressure to buy more than you came for. You’ll get high-resolution digital files or prints, depending on what you ordered. Then you’re done.

Sessions can happen at our Deer Park studio, your home, your office, or an outdoor location that makes sense for what you’re after. You’ll receive professionally edited images—color corrected, properly lit, and cleaned up where needed. If you’re flexible on timing, a few weeks is usually enough. If you need photos by a specific date—holiday cards, website launch, graduation—book at least a month out, maybe two during busy seasons.
Fall is the heaviest season for family portraits in Deer Park and across Houston. Everyone wants those October and November sessions before the holidays. If you’re set on that window, reach out by late summer. Spring is also popular but slightly less packed.
