Your headshot shows up before you do. On LinkedIn, in proposals, on your company’s website. It’s making an impression whether you’re in the room or not.
Most people hate getting their photo taken. You’re not sure what to do with your hands. You feel stiff. The photographer keeps saying “natural” but nothing about this feels natural.
Here’s what changes that: a photographer who’s been doing this since 1984 and knows how to make you comfortable in front of the camera. We talk first. We figure out what you actually need these photos for. Then we shoot with that purpose in mind—not just generic portraits, but images built for how you’ll use them. Business proposals. Annual reports. Your website. LinkedIn. Real estate marketing. Whatever the goal, the session is designed around it.
You walk away with portraits that feel like you, not some staged version of you. Professional, polished, and actually usable.
We’ve been creating portraits for business professionals and families in Morgan’s Point and the greater Houston area since 1984. That’s over 40 years of working with everyone from oil and gas executives to interior designers to families who just want one good photo they can actually use.
Morgan’s Point sits 27 miles southeast of Houston, and the professionals here expect quality. Median household income runs north of $95,000, and most of our clients are established in their careers. They don’t have time for amateur hour.
We’ve taught photography at the Art Institute of Houston and held the Certified Professional Photographer credential with PPA. We’ve worked with ad agencies, corporate communicators, and designers who demand precision. That experience shows up in how we run a session—efficiently, professionally, and with results you can count on.
First, we talk. You tell us what you need the portraits for and what’s worked or hasn’t worked in past sessions. We discuss location, lighting, wardrobe, and any concerns you have about being photographed. This consultation is complimentary and helps us plan a session that actually fits your goals.
On shoot day, we handle the technical stuff—lighting, backgrounds, angles—so you can focus on being present. We give direction when it helps and back off when it doesn’t. Most people relax after the first few shots once they see we’re not making them do anything weird.
After the session, you review your images and select the ones you want. We handle retouching to make sure everything looks polished and professional. Then you get high-resolution files ready for whatever you need—print, web, social media. The whole process typically takes one to two weeks from shoot to final delivery, depending on how quickly you make your selections.
Ready to get started?
Every portrait session starts with that complimentary consultation where we map out exactly what you need. Then you get access to our studio equipped with commercial-grade lighting, professional backgrounds, and dressing rooms if you need to change outfits.
During the shoot, we work through different looks, angles, and expressions to give you options. You’re not stuck with one shot and hoping it works. We shoot enough variety that you’ll have real choices when it’s time to select your finals.
Houston’s photography market is competitive, and the professionals here know the difference between decent and excellent. Texas’s photography industry is projected to hit $609 million by 2024, growing faster than the national average. That growth is driven by professionals who understand that image matters. In Morgan’s Point and the surrounding Harris County area, your professional image is part of your competitive edge—especially in industries like commercial real estate, corporate leadership, and entrepreneurship where first impressions count.
You’ll invest anywhere from $1,500 to $10,000+ depending on what you need and how you plan to use the images. That’s not cheap, and it’s not meant to be. You’re paying for 50+ years of combined experience, professional equipment, and images that actually work for your business or family legacy.
Most business headshot sessions run 30 to 60 minutes. That’s enough time to get multiple looks, try different expressions, and make sure you have options without dragging the process out.
Family portrait sessions typically take longer—usually 60 to 90 minutes—because you’re coordinating multiple people, possibly changing outfits, and working with kids who need breaks. We don’t rush it. Better to take the time and get it right than to hurry and end up with nothing you like.
The actual time depends on what you need. A single headshot for LinkedIn? That’s quick. A full branding shoot with multiple outfits and locations? That takes longer. We discuss timing during your consultation so you know exactly what to expect and can plan your day accordingly.
Wear what you’d wear to an important meeting with a client or at a professional event in your industry. If you normally wear suits, wear a suit. If your industry is more casual, dress accordingly. The goal is to look like the professional version of yourself, not someone else.
Solid colors usually work better than busy patterns. Patterns can be distracting and pull attention away from your face. Avoid bright white if possible—it can create lighting challenges. Darker colors or muted tones tend to photograph well and keep the focus where it belongs.
Bring options if you’re unsure. An extra shirt or blazer gives you choices during the session. We can shoot a few frames with each and you can decide later which look works best. And if you’re worried about fit or how something photographs, we’ll tell you during the session. We’ve been doing this long enough to know what works on camera and what doesn’t.
Both. Our studio in the Houston area is fully equipped with professional lighting, backgrounds, and everything needed for high-quality portraits. Most business headshots happen here because we control every variable—lighting, background, environment.
But we also shoot on location when it makes sense. If you want portraits in your office, at your business, or somewhere that’s meaningful to your brand or family, we can make that work. We bring the necessary equipment and handle the technical challenges that come with shooting outside a controlled studio environment.
Location shoots take more planning. We need to scout the location, figure out lighting, and work around factors like weather, foot traffic, or noise. That’s why we discuss location during your consultation—to make sure it’s the right choice for what you’re trying to accomplish and to address any potential issues before shoot day.
That depends on what you book and what you need. For a basic business headshot session, you might select one to three final images. For a more extensive branding or family portrait session, you could end up with a dozen or more.
During the session, we shoot far more than you’ll ultimately keep. That gives you real options when it’s time to review and select. You’re not stuck choosing between two mediocre shots—you’re picking the best from a solid set of options.
After the shoot, you review the images and tell us which ones you want retouched and delivered. We don’t force you to buy packages you don’t need. You invest based on what you’ll actually use. Some clients need one great headshot. Others need a full gallery for their website, social media, and marketing materials. We work with both.
Most people are. You’re not a professional model, and getting photographed isn’t something you do every day. That discomfort is normal, and we’ve worked with hundreds of people who felt the same way walking in.
Here’s what helps: we don’t throw you in front of the camera and start shooting. We talk first. We show you what we’re doing and why. We give you direction—where to look, how to stand, what to do with your hands—so you’re not guessing. Most people relax after the first few minutes once they realize we’re guiding the process and they don’t have to figure it out on their own.
We’ve been doing this since 1984. We’ve photographed awkward, camera-shy people more times than we can count, and we know how to make it work. You don’t need to be comfortable with cameras—you just need a photographer who knows how to make you comfortable. That’s our job, and we’re good at it.
Typically one to two weeks from the time you make your final selections. The timeline depends on how quickly you review your proofs and tell us which images you want, and how much retouching is needed.
After your session, we’ll send you a gallery to review—usually within a few days. You look through the images, pick your favorites, and let us know which ones you want finalized. Then we retouch those selections to make sure everything looks polished and professional before delivery.
If you’re on a tight deadline—say you need a headshot for a conference next week or a publication that’s going to print—let us know upfront. We can usually accommodate rush requests when necessary. But under normal circumstances, plan for about two weeks from shoot to final files in your hands.
